Video: MA RCA Final Wallpaper Collection

Here is a video I have created show casing my final project at the RCA. For this collection of wallpapers, Indian architectural structures mainly Hindu temples were the source of inspiration. The architecture is full of relief work, craftsmanship and patterns. I am interested in representing these three-dimensional structures and patterns through drawings, creating optical illusion/trompe l'Oeil designs within space.

Fragments of distortion have been added to the real to create a series of ornate wallpaper designs, which challenge scale, space and perspective. The large-scaled print-to-fit site specific wallpaper designs have the potential to be developed into wall paintings and large-scale projections. The collection also  includes repeat pattern wallpaper. Amalgamating Indian architectural patterns within my current western minimalist architectural environment merges different forms of architectural styles. This creates a visual impression and adds to the contrasting nature of my work, and to the optical experience.
