Queen Elizabeth QEST Scholar | Burberry Award Winner
April 2013: Awarded two first prizes with a further two commendations by the Bradford Textile Society.
I am delighted that my textiles work has been awarded two first prizes with a further two commendations by the Bradford Textile Society (Supported by Clothworkers Foundation). The first award was received for material construction created by non-conventioanl means. The second award was for innovative combination of textile processes for the interiors market. This recognition is special to me as I am originally from Yorkshire so its great to have my work commended by such an institution. The award winning work will be exhibited at Salts Mill from 24th to 28th April 2013. Salts Mill was built in 1853 and was at that time the largest industrial Building in the world. The Mill is now an art gallery housing a major collection of the work of Bradford-born artist David Hockney. The whole area is of architectural and historical interest, please go visit if you get the chance!
